Mover Spotlight

Welcome to a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is as exhilarating as the destination, and where every moment is an opportunity to make your mark on the canvas of existence. The only limit is the extent of your imagination.

For every movement in one direction there is a movement in the opposite direction. Working the problem of resisting gravity in an upright position.

Muriel Gordon Mayers a regular mover at Suncoast Center who sincerely believes that the Gyrotonic practice is for all ages to the great grandmother. She is a great grandmother and former dance educator, who due to injuries had to stop dancing. No longer able to dance, Gyrotonics is the only substitute I know of for dancing.  Some of the movements actually make me feel that I am dancing again. People ask me why at my age I keep making myself exercise.  I don’t make myself exercise because as a former dancer it is in my DNA and gives me joy.

I used to live by a motto that said “to dance is to live and to live is to dance.”  Now substitute those words with “to move is to live and to live is to move”
